In order to understand the Knowledge Governance in the co-production process between organized civil society and the public sector in the development of economic policies in the State of Espírito Santo to address public issues brought about by the coronavirus pandemic, a qualitative and interpretative research was conducted. The data collection instruments included documentary research and episodic interviews with initiative participants. Thematic narrative analysis was employed, enabling the identification of actors and entities involved in this process, their roles and positions, the factors motivating their participation in co-production, and the applied strategies and tools. The conceptual framework of related studies by Van Kerkhoff and Pilbeam (2017) and Audia et al. (2021) was utilized. It became evident that elements influencing the Knowledge Governance operate in a combined manner, forming a uniqueness that characterizes it. Notably, political knowledge plays a prominent role in coordinating other knowledge systems, mediating conflicts, and managing divergent interests. Additionally, considering that the researched civil society entities held distinct economic positions and power relations, the analysis may contribute to enhancing the co-production process of future public policies, fostering greater balance and diversity in their proposal by involved participants, thereby influencing the decision-making process more effectively.

This dissertation conducted a qualitative study in the Licentiate Degree in Pedagogy program at the Federal Institute of Espírito Santo (Ifes) – Itapina Campus, aiming to analyze how active methodologies are adopted by the teaching staff in the program. Conceptually, the study addressed active methodologies and higher education in Pedagogy. The research employed a case study method, with data collection through bibliographic research and semi-structured interviews with 13 faculty members who taught during the first semester of 2024. The data were analyzed using content analysis. The results indicate that, although active methodologies are acknowledged by the faculty, their implementation still faces challenges, particularly related to training, planning time, and the resistance of some professors and students who find it difficult to adapt to these innovative practices. Nonetheless, these methodologies show significant potential to promote more dynamic and interactive teaching. It is concluded that institutional support and continuing education are essential to consolidate the use of these practices, contributing to the improvement of higher education and the democratization of education in Brazil. The research provides Ifes with a tool to assist decision-makers in developing new teaching strategies, as well as in promoting faculty development and the adoption of active methodologies. Furthermore, this initiative may contribute to the formulation of public policies focused on higher education, expanding opportunities for democratizing education in Brazil through the creation and implementation of new university structures.

Co-production in public services is an emerging approach in the study of public policy, based on the conception that they are made up of different social actors. When perceiving a compatibility of this approach to the management councils, because they involve multiple actors in the elaboration of certain public policies, this Dissertation asked: how does the interaction of actors in the councils be associated with the co-production approach? Therefore, the objective of the research was to analyze the relationship between the co-production approach and the interaction of actors in the councils. As specific objectives, it was proposed to: Identify the characteristics of the studied councils that can influence co-production; Analyze the theoretical and practical evidence on this relationship; and Indicate the possibilities for future studies. For that, a systematic review of works voted on the subject was carried out, through qualitative meta-synthesis. Data analysis was performed using thematic content analysis technique. The results showed that management councils are spaces that are conducive to co-production, as they promote the interaction of actors to discuss certain public services. However, for coproduction to occur in this way, councilors have to influence the results of public policies in some way. The effectiveness of these mechanisms, consequently reaching coproduction, turns out to be a fundamental measure for the development of social participation and participatory democracy.
