To this end, we began the debate by presenting the different perspectives on what would define a smart city and we argue that this concept is associated with the phenomenon of digital transformation, as innovation proposals in the management of municipal services are linked to the incorporation of new ICTs into everyday life. of cities. We present that there are different conceptions about smart cities, with a group of authors who highlight the importance of ICTs for improving the quality of life of citizens, who barely discuss socioeconomic aspects, the local context for the application of technology and the types of propositions. of governance while, on the other hand, proposals are made for an approach with a more holistic perspective, in which the focus of smart city analysis moves away from technology and towards human factors, such as the capabilities of citizens to appropriate proposed innovations. and governance models designed for greater participation of city residents in the decision-making process for allocating public resources. We discuss concepts related to citizenship and digital citizenship and used ethnomethodology as a theoretical-methodological reference for the empirical approach to the phenomenon of exercising digital citizenship within an Instagram page. Through qualitative research, we sought to understand how residents of Greater São Pedro exercise digital citizenship through the social network Instagram. We observed that, on numerous occasions, public figures and managers such as governor, mayor, secretaries of health, security, education, state deputies, councilors, executives from public transport companies, water supply companies and press professionals interact with followers of the page. in order to respond to the demands placed there. These interactions that begin in the digital environment, on numerous occasions, end up achieving the intended improvements in the public services provided there, which shows the connection between the digital and analogue spaces.

- ItemA relação entre marketing, desempenho e previsões de lucro dos analistas pela ótica do marketing capability(Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo, 2022-07-27) Gazoni Junior, Gilmar Gomes ; Brandão, Marcelo Moll; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-8593-734X; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1717178124800971; Freire, Otávio Bandeira de Lamonica; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-9008-4273; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1745770940204631; Didonet, Simone Regina; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-8705-3508; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2661450372877035; Zanquetto Filho, Helio; https://orcid.org/0000000256930704; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7267023450920621; Serra, Fernando Antonio RibeiroThe role of marketing for business performance has received great attention from researchers in the field and in recent decades the conceptual understanding of this role has improved, allowing companies to create and sustain competitive advantage. However, Luo and Jong (2012) point out that directly relating marketing to the company's financial performance can be misleading, indicating that there are many variables missing in such studies. In this sense, some papers analyze the influence of financial analysts' forecasts on the relationship between marketing and financial performance . More recent papers have shown that the financial analyst began to exert pressure on managers for results, influencing their marketing investment decisions and generating consequences for long-term performance. However, such papers, when considering only marketing resources, leave gap by ignoring the role of marketing capability for companies' financial performance. According to Morgan (2012), marketing resources can only generate better results when they are transformed by the marketing capacity. This research had the general objective to investigate how the marketing capability interacts and influences the relationship between financial analysts' forecasts, marketing resources and financial performance, already observed in the literature. Specifically, the effect of pressure from financial analysts on marketing resources was observed, as observed in previous studies, on marketing capability and on company performance. The relationship between marketing resources and marketing capability was also verified, as well as their contribution to the company's performance. Furthermore, due to the different metrics for marketing resources found in the literature, I investigated the impact of the choice of the marketing resources metric on the results and the relationship of these metrics with the marketing capability. Additionally, aiming at greater robustness, I also verified whether the effect of analyst pressure on marketing resources, marketing capability and company performance can be enhanced or mitigated by the company's strategic positioning through its investment in research and development (R&D) and the size of the company measured by its total assets. To achieve the proposed objectives, companies with shares traded on the NASDAQ and NY stock exchanges from 1995 to 2021 were analyzed using panel data. First, the results evidenced the pressure exerted by the financial analysts forecast negatively influence marketing resources measured by selling, general and administrative expenses (SG&A) and on marketing capability. However, it was observed that companies with greater pressure from financial analysts try to increase their specific expenses with marketing resources measured by advertising. With regard to financial performance, it was evidenced that the pressure of the financial analyst negatively influences the total return and the market cap, but positively influences the corporate abnormal return. The results also showed that marketing resources and marketing capability significantly contribute to the company's financial performance. Finally, it was observed that companies with greater investment in R&D and larger size have a lower effect of pressure from the financial analyst on marketing (resources and capability) and on financial performance (abnormal return and total return). Thus, showing that the inclusion of marketing capability in studies related to the impact of pressure from financial analysts on marketing and company performance contributes to a better understanding of the topic.

Among the main conceptual frameworks used to explore these practices aimed at the reorientation of normative and cognitive structures taken for granted in the field of Organizational Studies are the approaches that privilege recursive relationships between actions and institutions, which acquired special notoriety from the launch of concept of institutional work, proposed by Lawrence and Suddaby (2006). Although the literature dealing with the subject is a rapidly expanding current in Organizational Studies, there is a substantial theoretical gap regarding the investigation of the work of disruption of institutions taken for granted. By identifying this gap, I sought to explore how different actors, especially street-level bureaucrats, organized and worked to promote the disruption of two of the most fundamental institutions of a military police corporation: hierarchy and discipline. By assuming Schatzki's (2006) view that organizations happen, and that we can experience them as they develop, I was able to direct my inquiry to “hear the hidden voices” of these less empowered actors as the phenomenon occurred. As my research object involved the identification and analysis of aspects not necessarily explicit, participant observation was chosen as the dominant data collection technique. After 14 months of observation and experience of field practices, the results showed that the disruptive work, performed from the intentional interposition of third parties in the conduct of practices that contributed to the interruption of socially institutionalized rules, materialize a process of manipulating the boundaries of institutional control tools to disconnect sanctions provided in the military normative order and has helped to close the gap on how disruptive work is required to destabilize highly institutionalized domains.

Given the complexity and unique nature of the real estate market, where agents operate with high-value products both financially and emotionally, this study aims to fill a critical gap in understanding the factors that determine the satisfaction of these professionals, whose performance is vital to the success of real estate transactions. The research was conducted with a sample of 170 real estate agents, using the PROCESS macro for R software for data analysis, collected primarily via LinkedIn. The results highlight that both professional autonomy and transformational leadership are essential determinants of both salary satisfaction and job satisfaction among agents, emphasizing the importance of a leadership style that values and promotes professional autonomy. The analysis also reveals that agents' experience, measured by years of sales experience, significantly moderates the relationship between autonomy and satisfaction, both in terms of salary and job satisfaction, suggesting that more experienced professionals respond differently to the studied variables. These findings indicate that strategies focused on developing transformational leaders, combined with increasing the professional autonomy of more experienced agents, can enhance both salary and job satisfaction, leading to better performance and higher retention of these professionals in the highly competitive real estate market

Two sequential quantitative studies were based on social-cognitive career selfmanagement model (CSM; LENT; BROWN, 2013) of Social Cognitive Career Theory (SCCT). Study 1 aimed to verify the effect of contextual career barriers’ perceptions on functional coping strategies through self-efficacy expectations and emotional social support held by undergraduate students, given a context of contextual crisis. A survey was conducted among 163 brazilian senior undergraduate students attending Business and Administration areas. Data analysis included descriptive statistics, confirmatory factor analysis and mediation analysis. The main results revealed that analyzed contextual influences impact functional coping strategies in different ways. Barriers impacted only indirectly and social support impacted directly. It was also found that self-efficacy did not mediate the relationship between barriers and coping. Emotional social support played a mediating role in the relationship and was a predictor of self-efficacy in the serial mediation model. In turn, Study 2 aimed to test CSM applied to adaptive coping behavior in the face of contextual perceptions, social supports and career barriers held by undergraduate students and workers, given a context of contextual crisis. According to CSM, the variables included in test were contextual (career barriers and social support in family and at work), self-efficacy (occupational), actions (functional coping strategies) and outcomes (selfmanagement, career satisfaction, life satisfaction, employability). Additionally, volition at work was included in the MAC test. A survey was also conducted by two stages. Stage i included 261 brazilian undergraduate students attending Business and Administration areas. The objective was to develop detailed analyzes of relationships through mediation and moderation models. Data analysis included descriptive statistics, confirmatory factor analysis, mediation and moderation analysis. Results indicated that: a) self-efficacy and functional coping strategies are serial mediators that explain the relationship between social support at work and positive career outcomes; b) functional coping strategies mediate the relationship between social support in family and positive career outcomes; c) family social support of the material type moderates the relation of contextual career barriers and general restrictions, of the construct volition at work; and, d) family social support of the material type moderates the relationship of contextual career barriers and volition at work. Stage ii expanded the analyzes and included 566 brazilian undergraduate students attending different courses. The objective was to develop general analyzes of direct relationships through the joint test of the CSM. Data analysis included descriptive statistics, confirmatory factor analysis and Structural Equation Modeling. Results indicated compliance for the most part with MAC assumptions. However, contrary to what was expected, it was found that career barriers do not predict functional coping actions, and barriers and social supports do not predict some positive career outcomes. Based on the results, it was possible to support the argument of this Doctoral Thesis: in a scenario of contextual crisis, career barriers and social supports favor actions and positive career outcomes through mediation mechanisms and moderation conditionals. Briefly, the main theoretical contributions are: i) Perceived contextual barriers in the career can favor positive actions and failures in the career when they are related to social support through mediation or moderation; ii) Functional coping of contextual barriers perceived in career is based on the external environment; iii) Contextual influences related to supports and barriers can assume roles of predictors, mediators or moderators in relationships with self-efficacy, coping and positive career outcomes; iv) Career contextual barriers differ from volition at work and can be related to this through interaction with social supports; iv) CSM applied to adaptive coping behavior in the face of contextual perceptions is able to predict levels of functional coping and positive career outcomes among student-workers; and, vi) Volition at work can add explanatory power to MAC.

A bibliometric and a systematic review introduced the link between analytics and marketing capabilities resulting in a nomological network that presents some opportunities to test how analytics boosts performance through intervening constructs. Thus it is conjectured that analytics alone cannot improve performance. The work aims to narrow the marketing capabilities gap using a new perspective for organizational culture and adaptive analytics based on Day (2011) adaptive concepts enhancing the market knowledge learning process. The model presents two intervening constructs after a step-by-step scale development for a fit construct. The fit construct embraces the conditional structure of adaptive analytics and the organic culture, explaining better how the fit boosts organizational performance. The mechanism engenders the fit construct, measured as covariation, marketing capabilities, and absorptive capacity on multi-industry effort in the European Union and Brazil. The thesis of fitted culture and analytics facilitated by a parallel mediation expands analytics role on theory and interconnects, even more, the information systems and marketing strategy literature.

To achieve this objective, two experimental studies were conducted, allowing the establishment of cause-and effect relationships. Marketing expenditure (high/low) and media credibility (high/low) were manipulated to observe the different impacts on stock price perception. The proposed hypotheses were tested using regression analysis with SPSS software and the Macro Process extension. Both the direct relationship between marketing actions and company performance and the indirect relationship involving marketing assets (EDELING; FISCHER, 2016) were tested, with the conditions identified in the state-of the-art interface of Marketing-Behavioral Finance. The studies demonstrated that only communications disseminated through media recognized for having above-average credibility can influence investors to engage with the company and recommend the stock. Additionally, they indicated that by recommending the stock, the investor recognizes its potential to influence the value of the company and perceives the stock appreciation through price changes. The study contributes to addressing a gap noted in both literature and managerial practice: proving the impact of marketing actions on the creation of value for shareholders and the conditions that can influence this relationship. Theoretical contributions include understanding the impact of conditions from Communication and Behavioral Finance on the creation of value for shareholders. Practical contributions benefit the company by providing insights into investor behavior, benefit investors by increasing their understanding of the creation of value for shareholders and stock price variation, and benefit the market by revealing the potential of media to influence informational asymmetry

To achieve this, it was investigated how the theme is addressed in official documents and among managers and health professionals in the municipality of Vitória, ES, articulating contributions from the interpretative approach to the notion of competency and the Theory of Social Representations. The theoretical support of the research is anchored mainly in a contextual approach to competencies and competencies development, as well as discussions about occupational health, WRMH and continuing education in health. This study adopted a qualitative research approach. Both triangulation of sources of evidence and triangulation of methods or techniques were used in the methodological path. Initially, research was carried out on official documents from the Municipal Health Secretariat (SEMUS) of Vitória-ES. Semistructured interviews were conducted with professionals who held management positions in SEMUS and with professionals who worked in two Basic Health Units (BHU) of the municipality. The documentary research was analyzed using the lexical analysis technique with support from IRAMUTEQ software, and the interviews were analyzed using content analysis with a posteriori categorization. The results of the documentary research indicate that: work is neglected as a determinant of health but recognized as a space for the development of professional competencies; there is a need for greater emphasis on work as a social determinant of health to strengthen and promote worker health practices at the municipal level. In the interviews with management positions, it was found that: there were different representations of competencies and SMRT among the interviewees; active methodologies were used for the development of competencies; and there were limitations to the development and mobilization of competencies in WRMH due to the managers' social representations and lack of work process transformations. The absence of the WRMH theme in ongoing devices and work processes potentiates difficulties in this area. In the research with BHU professionals, it was found that: there is little insertion of the WRMH theme in primary care, lack of integration among sectors and professionals, some actions are developed in an interdisciplinary way and the competence development strategies promote interdisciplinarity, but do not address the mental health of workers. From these results, we conclude that there is a need for explicit insertion of work as a determinant of health in the official documents of the municipality in order to guide the action of health professionals to consider the work processes of health system users in their daily care; there is a need to develop actions that favor the understanding of health processes in a broad way, the perception of WRMH as a collective responsibility, the untying of the notion of competencies exclusively to individual attributes, and the elaboration of protocols and instruments to investigate the causal link between mental health and work. Interdisciplinary work contributes to the development of professionals' competencies. However, the conception of competence linked to the professional category, the influence of disciplinary training, and the scarcity of financial and personnel resources make it difficult to take advantage of this contribution, notably for the approach of WRMH, which is seen as the responsibility of specialized areas of occupational health or mental health.

A gente segura a mão uma das outras”: o assédio sexual na pós-graduação em administração numa perspectiva afrocêntrica(Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo, 2023-11-27) Santos, Luana Sodré da Silva; Teixeira, Juliana Cristina; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3705084565039896; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0262433190597445; Fantinel, Leticia Dias; https://orcid.org/0000000245896352; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8188708807795008; Oliveira, Josiane Silva de; Diniz, Ana Paula Rodrigues; Vasconcelos, Katia Cyrlene de Araujo; https://orcid.org/0000000169727599; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0179308147079347Black women in academic settings, particularly in teaching and research roles, face obstacles that impact their entry and persistence as knowledge producers and education professionals. Among these challenges, sexual harassment stands out as a patriarchal gender violence that violates the victims integrity by undermining the autonomy of women as individuals. Treated as beings without subjectivities, their bodies are reduced to sexual objects, subjected to subjugation and violence by men. Specifically, Black women grapple with racial issues, emphasizing the need to broaden the concept of sexual harassment (SH). Beyond the legal context, a sociological discussion is undertaken, drawing on the concepts of cosmo-perception and worldview from Afrocentric theories to prioritize alternative perspectives and consider Black women as a collective subject. Additionally, African and Afro-diasporic authors are employed to reclaim the autonomy and humanity of Black women in postgraduate studies, exploring non-Eurocentric ways of being and living. In predominantly white and male academia, literature indicates that these women are challenged for constructing knowledge that goes against the hegemonic narrative. Instances of racism and sexism are found to hinder, marginalize, and discredit them. The methodological approach of “falavivência”; based on Conceição Evaristo’s concept of “Escrevivência” is used to orally explore how they experience their academic journeys in the field of Administration. Conversations with academic leaders in the field of Administration are also conducted to understand institutional responses to sexual harassment in their spaces. Falavivências reveal the adversities of existing in unwelcoming spaces. Notably, among the reported violences are epistemicides, silencings, sexual harassment based on gender, and associations with stereotypes like mulatto, black mother, and domestic worker. These incidents, whether interconnected or isolated, aim to position them in the realm of non-being, causing both visible and invisible wounds. Conversely, survival strategies rooted in collectivity are observed, enabling them to persist and claim their rightful space. The concept of “quilombo” emerges as a path to reclaim self-knowledge and self-definition. In this thesis, falavivência fosters affectionate connections with participants, including the researcher. The care, affection, and metaphorical “lap” subvert the violent expectations imposed on them, facilitating the construction of another Black woman in control of her body, desires, and aspirations. Ultimately, by expanding the concept of sexual harassment, the thesis effectively addresses the violences they endure. The integration with Afrocentricity opens up new possibilities for being an woman “amefricana”.

Also presented as an alternative to the economic downturn, especially for women, these discourses contribute to the normalizing (re)production of who can become an entrepreneur, reinforcing a binary gender logic, in addition to making the challenges faced by women in entrepreneurship invisible. However, in recent years, alternative ways of understanding entrepreneurship have contributed to advance the debate on this phenomenon, especially from a critical perspective and from the perspective of subjects traditionally considered marginalized in the literature, including women entrepreneurs who occupy male-dominated market spaces. Therefore, based on the Critical Entrepreneurship Studies (CES), from entrepreneuring, this thesis has the purpose to understand how the discourses related to entrepreneuring of Black female entrepreneurs who have businesses that break with the heteronormative gender logic may create possibilities of resistance towards gender freedom practices. To achieve this purpose, I conducted semi-structured interviews with 14 women entrepreneurs. Subsequently, the data were analyzed using the Foucaultian Discourse Analysis (ADF). The results showed that entrepreneurial discourses still position women as the other, in a heteronormative gender logic. Additionally, in the context and based on the analyzed discourses of the research participants, entrepreneurship is also crossed by intersectionality, contributing to the problematization of how the black entrepreneurial woman and the indigenous entrepreneurial woman are still positioned in the logic of survival, even when they have businesses economically successful. However, these women, by adoption a set of attitudes that differ from traditional behaviors, seek to break with the heteronormativity of entrepreneurship, by understanding the theme not as something fixed and static, but as a process in constant transformation, the entrepreneuring. This alternative way of understanding entrepreneurship leads to practices of freedom, identified in this thesis as practices of problematization and practices of reflexive affirmation.
