A EDUFES tem como objetivo a publicação de livros técnicos e científicos de destacada relevância, produzidos por professores, estudantes e técnicos administrativos da Ufes, que multiplicam a produção acadêmica da Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo, contribuindo para a difusão do conhecimento.
A Editora da Ufes é uma unidade vinculada à Superintendência de Cultura e Comunicação da Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo. Criada em 1995, tem sua produção definida por um Conselho Editorial formado por representantes de todos os Centros de Ensino da Ufes, que se reúne periodicamente para análise dos originais recebidos.

- ItemLiteratura e afetos desterritorializados(2026) Ribeiro, Jiego; Soares, Luis EustáquioIn *Literatura e afetos desterritorializados* [Literature and Deterritorialized Affects], authors Késia Gomes da Silva, Thalita Banhos, Sinval Paulino, Fábio Henrique dos Santos Araújo, Délio Freire, Jiego Ribeiro, and Luis Eustáquio Soares engage in theoretical dialogues with Gilles Deleuze and Félix Guattari—as well as Georg Lukács, Michel Foucault, Jean Baudrillard, Karl Marx, Guy Debord, and others—to address literary signs that are chaosmotic, strange, minor, and foreign, alongside the (machinic) syntheses of deterritorialized affects. Spanning diverse literary genres such as poetry, letters, *crônicas*, short stories, and novellas, the work analyzes the *polis*, percepts, becomings, deviations, subjective productions, heterogenesis, minor coefficients, affects, the plane of consistency, and distinct semiotic regimes. Writers such as Roberto Piva, Fernando Pessoa, Aleister Crowley, Graciliano Ramos, Conde V. Smiles, Ungulani Ba Ka Khosa, and Franz Kafka take the stage.

Starting with the precursors and classical figures of sociology, the work traces the consolidation of various 20th-century theoretical strands and addresses contemporary challenges in the field. Along the way, it examines thinkers such as Harriet Martineau, Karl Marx, Émile Durkheim, Georg Simmel, Max Weber, W. E. B. Du Bois, Norbert Elias, Pierre Bourdieu, and Anthony Giddens, as well as schools of thought including functionalism, phenomenology, ethnomethodology, symbolic interactionism, Marxism, Frankfurt School critical theory, critical realism, and post-structuralism. It also explores debates regarding modernity, coloniality, and inequalities of class, race, and gender, offering a comprehensive view of the evolution of sociological thought.

XVI ao XIX)(2026) Pessotti, LucieneThis book examines the role of Military Engineering—one of the key forces that shaped Portuguese America—and its significance regarding the occupation, defense, and urban layout of the territory during the colonial period. The study focuses on the Captaincy of Espírito Santo, specifically its first two settlements: Vila do Espírito Santo and Vila de Nossa Senhora da Vitória. It also analyzes the defense of Vitória Bay in light of the theoretical foundations and principles of Military Engineering, as well as the importance of fortifications in defending the region. The work is the result of postdoctoral research conducted within the scope of Luso-Brazilian research group studies. It also incorporates data from the fortification inventory and protection guidelines established by the National Scientific Committee on Fortifications and Military Heritage of ICOMOS Brazil (CCBrFort-ICOMOS), an organization of which the author is a member.

Resulting from collaborative research conducted by graduate programs and research groups at the Federal University of Espírito Santo (Ufes), the volume gathers studies that analyze the impact of national guidelines on local and state public school systems. Central topics addressed include the interdependence networks and management of local policies, Specialized Educational Services (AEE), pedagogical practices in Early Childhood Education, Rural Education, Youth and Adult Education (EJA), and literacy processes for students with disabilities and developmental disorders. The collection reaffirms regular public schools as a locus of rights and contextualized continuing education as an ethical-political commitment to guaranteeing learning and social transformation.

Organized by Ozirlei Teresa Marcilino, Ana Paula Azevedo Moura Careta, and Circe Mary Silva da Silva Dynnikov, the work places indigenous agency and intellectual voices at the center of scientific production. Through an intercultural and multimodal pedagogical and methodological approach integrating text, photography, drawings, and songs, the book records and systematizes ancestral knowledge applied to the reality of the communities in Aracruz (ES). The chapters cover fundamental axes such as territoriality, indigenous school education, ethnomathematics, and traditional subsistence and cultural practices, including lunar cycles, blue crab fishing, samburá basketry, traditional Guarani architecture, and the agricultural management of cassava. The book stands as a powerful didactic resource aimed at strengthening ethnic identity and decolonizing the school curriculum.
