The study is based on the premise that, although technological innovations have expanded access to information, inequalities persist regarding the ability to use these tools critically and safely. The theoretical framework integrates studies on information, digital, and media literacy, highlighting the importance of an interdisciplinary approach that considers both technical aspects and the sociocultural challenges inherent in ICT use. The literature review demonstrates that digital inclusion goes beyond mere access to devices; it involves the development of capabilities that support the interpretation, evaluation, and critical selection of information. The obstacles faced by this group are closely linked to historical, socioeconomic, and cultural factors, which hinder their adaptation to digital environments and increase their vulnerability to misinformation. The methodological approach adopted combined quantitative and qualitative strategies, through the application of a questionnaire and the conduction of a focus group, with data collected at the Open University for Older Adults (UnAPI/Ufes). The data analysis, grounded in the theoretical framework of the European Digital Competence Framework for Citizens (DigComp 2.2), enabled the identification of the weakest components of digital competence among participants, revealing difficulties in using devices, verifying the truthfulness of information, and critically evaluating accessed content. The results point to the need for specific educational interventions that promote continuous updating and improvement of digital skills, thereby reducing the risks associated with exposure to misinformation. The study underscores the importance of intervention strategies that consider the specificities of the older population, contributing to their inclusion and active participation in the digital environment. The findings provide valuable input for future research as well as for the implementation of public policies and educational programs aimed at digital inclusion, integrating technical, cognitive, and social dimensions.

In this perspective, it will present the practices and programmed actions carried out by each public library aimed at confronting social inequalities, guided by the premise of socio-informational responsibility. It presents a brief historical overview of the BP of the RMGV; it will characterize the current reality of the BP of the RMGV (physical structure, staff, collection and technological reality); it will identify the themes related to social inequalities present in the surroundings of the BP and describe the practices and actions carried out by the BP aimed at addressing these; it will distinguish and/or characterize the audience served by the practices/actions aimed at confronting social inequalities; and it proposes an action plan collectively constructed by the BP of the RMGV. It develops applied social research under a predominantly qualitative approach, with exploratory-descriptive purposes. To achieve the objectives, it utilizes bibliographical research, preliminary surveys, action research, and focus groups as operational tools of action research. It employs online questionnaires and direct observation, among other instruments that may be deemed necessary throughout the process to enrich the work. In the context of Capixaba society, the present discussion may reveal significant contributions regarding the scenario of BP in the Metropolitan Region of Greater Vitória (RMGV), such as: evidence, or lack thereof, of praxis in the context of combating social inequalities, mapping of existing common problems, collective solutions and/or possibilities for networking, a brief historical record of the creation of these spaces within the RMGV and/or a collective planning program for the BPs of the RMGV.
- ItemDescoberta de relacionamento informacional em elementos do modelo transdiagnóstico ACEDA por meio de análise de redes complexas(Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo, 2025-04-30) Vale, Lucas; Teixeira, Maria das Graças da Silva; https://orcid.org/0000-0003-0398-8029; http://lattes.cnpq.br/5727201281670356; Cristovão, Henrique Monteiro; https://orcid.org/0000-0003-2011-7022; http://lattes.cnpq.br/5035919384923489; https://orcid.org/0009-0001-5510-3520; Lemos, Daniela Lucas da Silva; https://orcid.org/0000-0003-1565-7366; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9280443047358807; Segundo, José Eduardo Santarem; https://orcid.org/0000-0003-3360-7872; http://lattes.cnpq.br/5562746387565465In a context of increasing mental health data production, the present study investigates informational relationships among variables from the transdiagnostic ACEDA model (which integrates Affect, Cognition, Empathy, Desire, and Aggressiveness), with the aim of contributing to both the theoretical development and clinical application of this model, which is used in the identification of impulse control disorders. The relevance of this research lies in its potential to enhance the understanding of the underlying mechanisms of individual impulsivity and, consequently, to support the development of more precise diagnostic and therapeutic interventions. Using Complex Network Analysis techniques from the perspective of Information Science, the study applies methodological procedures involving the collection, cleaning, normalization, and exploratory analysis of data gathered through questionnaires administered to patients, followed by the application of data mining methods for the construction and interpretation of informational networks. The results point to the existence of significant connections among the dimensions proposed by the ACEDA model, revealing patterns and relationships that would not be evident through traditional approaches. In doing so, the study provides valuable insights into the model's internal structure and potential directions for its continuous validation, which may ultimately have a positive impact on the understanding and treatment of impulse control disorders
- ItemPesquisa-ação no programa de competência em informação da rede de bibliotecas escolares do município de Vila Velha (ES)(Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo, 2025-04-30) Ribeiro, Sara Dieny Chaves; Mata, Marta Leandro da; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-8371-4943; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8808213730426235; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-7036-3718; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4701259891159278; Gerlin, Meri Nádia Marques ; https://orcid.org/0000-0003-4292-2559; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7448832399554247; Farias, Gabriela Belmont de ; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-5743-4422; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9393190768810116The school library is a suitable environment for introducing actions and programs for the development of information literacy, since from this space it is possible to reach the entire community to which it belongs with great external potential. In this context, the following question was conceived: How can the actions developed in the Information Literacy Program of the School Library Network of the Municipality of Vila Velha (ES) impact the library and provide educational benefits to students? To answer this, the general objective of this research is: To analyze the actions developed by librarians in the Information Literacy Program of the School Library Network of the Municipality of Vila Velha (ES) and their respective impacts on the school community. This study is an action research, characterized as qualitative, applied and exploratory in nature. The data collection instruments were focus groups, semi-structured interviews, participant observation and field diary. The results show that school librarians play a fundamental role in the development of information literacy among young students and that the context of the School Library Network in the municipality of Vila Velha (ES) is an example to be followed and replicated in many other cities in the country. The interventions in the projects, such as action research, demonstrated that it is possible and necessary to carry out actions to develop information literacy collaboratively with teachers. It was evident that there are challenges in the context of the Network, but they can be overcome, because even with them, the benefits promoted by the existence of the Library Network are diverse. It is concluded that strengthening information literacy in Elementary Education requires continuous planning, institutional support and collaborative actions between librarians, teachers, pedagogues and other educators to ensure its development
- ItemO eu, o outro e a margem: a mediação cultural no contexto das sociedades multiculturais a partir do texto(Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo, 2025-04-17) Barbosa, Gabriel do Nascimento; Aldabalde, Taiguara Vilella; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-7710-0355; http://lattes.cnpq.br/5623964456964265; https://orcid.org/0009-0002-5721-8855; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9632075583999092; Gerlin, Meri Nádia Marques; https://orcid.org/0000-0003-4292-2559; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7448832399554247; Jamarillo, Jeronimo PizzarroThis research presents a theoretical study with a hermeneutic approach on the theme of Cultural Mediation in the context of multicultural societies. Thus, the text constitutes an interpretative effort to analyze the implications of three concepts, methodologically guided by Paul Ricoeur's hermeneutics, resulting in the construction of a reflective model that embraces the notions of Cultural Mediation, Multicultural Societies, and Text. Drawing from Gramsci's concept of the organic intellectual—the thinker committed to their own social class and, consequently, active at the margins between hegemonic knowledge and the effort to challenge boundaries—this study opts for a re-elaboration within the field of language. It seeks to affirm a voice among voices in a shared world, assuming enunciation from a specific place and trajectory, engaging in a universal dialogue through difference. This endeavor aligns with the research's justification: to develop an understanding that is still lacking in the field but is essential in an increasingly plural and diverse world—the idea of cultural mediation as a concept. To address the relationships and implications between the concepts of cultural mediation, multicultural societies, and text, the study is guided by the general objective of To understand how reflections on cultural mediation, multicultural societies, and text can contribute, through their points of contact, to studies in the philosophy of information regarding the contemporary world's demands for cultural diversity. It seeks possibilities for interpretation that engage with knowledge produced from the periphery of Western society. The research is structured into three chapters, each dedicated to one of the key concepts, concluding with the necessity of preparing the ground, within Information Science, for questions that engage with contemporary cultures in a globalized world—one that is increasingly dynamic and diverse.
