- ItemA hermenêutica da arte em Hans-Georg Gadamer(Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo, 2013-08-20) Vasconcelos, Gustavo Caverzan; Araujo, Ricardo Corrêa de; Casanova, Marco Antonio dos Santos; Oliveira, Bernardo Barros Coelho deIt is intended to present the Hans-Georg Gadamer hermeneutics of art and his philosophical defense about the possibility of knowledge of the truth in the experience of dialogue lived by anyone that contemplates an artwork. It supports that it is possible highlighting, at first, the play concepts, of festival and symbol and then, the concepts of application and experience thought by Gadamer. In addition, it shows up how can we think the artwork as a image that presents, itself, a content of truth to the viewer, scoring the internal characteristics the way of being of the reproductive arts, statutory arts and literature. This way, it is observed the fundamental sense of participation of the people involved in the play of the art, namely, the artist creator, the representative agent and the viewer to finally show how the application of each one contribute to a significant development of the art hermeneutics. In that process, it stands out the importance of the contents legacy by the historical tradition and mobility in its facticity, to think about the hermeneutics exercises in accordance with the advent of the circumstantial truth in the presentation of the artwork.
- ItemA prioridade do correto sobre o bem como forma de garantir a estabilidade em sociedades marcadas pelo pluralismo razoável(Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo, 2018-10-23) Barreira, Carolina Matedi; Araujo, Ricardo Corrêa de; Silveira, Denis Coitinho; Barreira, Marcelo MartinsThe research examines a priority of the right over the good in John Rawls's book "Political Liberalism", by means of basic concepts of Justice as Fairness, highlighting reasonable political pluralism, political conception of justice and political construtivism. The intent is to demonstrate how that priority is the crucial element of Political Liberalism, and the vital role in justice as fairness. It also tries to demonstrate that ideas of right and the good are complementaries, and that priority of the first is more adequate to guarantee stability of societies marked by the fact of reasonable pluralism. The aim is to expose how this can benefit democratic societies marked by a profound plurality of ideias of good, which justifies the relevance of research on Rawls today.
- ItemFilosofia, Política e Democracia na obra tardia de Richard Rorty(Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo, 2016-05-31) Silva, Marcelo de Almeida; Araujo, Ricardo Corrêa de; Barreira, Marcelo Martins; Vieira, Susana de Castro AmaralThis research thematizes the relationship between philosophy, politics and democracy in the work of Richard Rorty. More specifically, discusses its proposals to qualify the offers of philosophical production to the advancement of democratic practices. This will be done through the analysis of texts belonging to his last two decades of life, when his interest in politics became increasingly evident. In a scenario in which many claim that the resources offered by philosophy in its traditional conception as the search of unconditional truth, are no longer politically relevant, our goal here is to present the alternative of pragmatic political philosophy of Rorty and the main objections to this, showing how it can be useful to address the complexity of the political and social problems typical of democracies.
- ItemO PRINCÍPIO DO DANO COMO MEDIAÇÃO E LIMITE ENTRE TOLERÂNCIA E LIBERDADE EM JOHN STUART MILL.(Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo, 2021-12-17) Sales Filho, José; Araujo, Ricardo Corrêa de; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-0431-8599; http://lattes.cnpq.br/5638777509855807; https://orcid.org/; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3086964471115490; Barreira, Marcelo Martins; https://orcid.org/0000000293673073; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0690909917220112; Brilhante, Atila Amaral; https://orcid.org/; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3964055069648793Based on the writings of John Stuart Mill as expressed in his most important book entitled, On liberty, this thesis seeks to clarify his proposals on what can do, what one should do and how acts so that societies, with their cultural, ethnic, racial and religious differences; through tolerance and progress, coexist in peace and liberty. The importance of the conceptual nexus between tolerance and liberty in Mill’s thought will be demonstrated through the limitation of the power of the State, which must be tolerant in order to guarantee the liberty of the citizens in a democratic and pluralistic society. The harm principle is presented as a mediation concept and as a constitutive limit between liberty and tolerance, insofar as it establishes that the State must be tolerant in guaranteeing the liberty of the citizens; acting against them only to curb actions that are harmful to others.
