Resumo
Promoting society's involvement and commitment to water-related actions and policies still poses as a challenge, despite being every citizen’s right. In the implementation of the listed objectives in the National Water Resources Policy (Política Nacional de Recursos Hídricos - PNRH), it is essential to overcome society’s lack of knowledge about the Water Resources Management System. Qualitative in nature, this study aims to offer ways to reduce such gap. In methodological terms, it is divided into two parts: the first contains document research that identify actions developed between 2016-2019 by four committees that stood out due to their relationship with society: São Francisco, Sinos, Velhas, and PCJ. After the research, the categorization, and the analysis of the information obtained, we initiated the second stage: the mobilization of the CBH Rio Itapemirim (State of Espírito Santo) to reflect on its relationship with society beyond the traditional formats of meetings and technical lectures. The result was systematized and presented to the members of CBH Itapemirim to build an action plan for mobilizing society. The pinnacle of this stage was the collective workshops that, based on the actions of the four committees analyzed and the experience of CBH Itapemirim, built an action plan to be carried out within two years. Thus, there are two products in this research: a study of the so-called "good practices" concerning basin committees and society, and a community mobilization action plan.
