Resumo
This study proposes a contextualization of the aesthetic-philosophical trends present in Gerd Bornheim's work. The author was an important Brazilian thinker who stood out for his studies on modern and contemporary philosophy, and for several critical reflections on themes such as art, creativity, perception, theater, expression, dialectics, among others. His valuable philosophical propositions contribute to a better aesthetic-political and cultural understanding through his role as a public intellectual, teacher and opinion maker. The art of portraiture in Gerd Bornheim performs in two perspectives. At first, it is a study on the origin, trajectory and work of the philosopher with the intention of interpreting and preserving his memory. The deepening of the Bornheimian itinerary will be contrasted, in a second moment, as an analysis of the philosophical and contemporary issues related to the construction of the individual's portrait from the development of subjectivity and alterity in the artistic fields of painting, literature and photography.
