Resumo
Over the years, the cities have undergone changes in their structures due to urban population’s growth and their needs, influencing the environment directly. Consequently, these interferences resulted in a greater accumulation of heat, since the natural elements were replaced by various artificial materials, such as the paving and coverings applied to the buildings covering. Thus, it is necessary to study the thermal performance of these materials in order to enable a mitigation of temperatures both in the urban environment and inside buildings. The main objective was to analyze comparatively the influence of conventional acrylic paint and acrylic paint with rubberized skin used on building facades, considering Vitória City, Espírito Santo State as a territorial feature in relation to the effect on the urban microclimate. The methodology adopted was divided into three main parts. First, it was realized the description of the spot used to perform the thermal measurements. From location’s choice, the characteristics of the prototype were defined, namely its composition, finishing and finally the choice of final covering. The evaluation of surface temperatures regarding to each facade, color and typology was accomplished through comparative analysis among data. The results showed that at times of higher solar incidence, the “B” paint has a better thermal performance, as it has a lower heating rate than the “A” paint, although in the less insoluble intervals, the “A” paint shows better results. It was also found that the ink "A" demands less time to heat up, when compared to the ink "B", since the second one has a rubberized skin, while in the item cooling "A" loses heat faster, when whereas the paint "B" cools more slowly, returning heat to the environment, thus reducing the formation of heat islands.
