Resumo
Contrary to what the idea of common sense may bring, the History of Science goes beyond telling “stories” about a scientific fact, but it studies the process of building knowledge to make the student critical. The History of Science is not a replacement for “normal” science education, but a subsidy for understanding how scientists thought at a given time; how they worked; what is the relationship between science and its influences in the socio-political field and; demystify some paradigms of science. The History of Science, specifically the History of Chemistry, is referred to as an important part to be worked on in the classroom by official documents, such as the New Curriculum Parameters for High School (PCN + High School). Due to the growing importance of the History of Science in Education, several studies have been carried out in order to promote and / or contemplate these studies in high school. Much of the work developed does not include strategies to bring the History of Science to the Teaching of Chemistry. In view of this, the History of Science should appear first at a higher level, in the training of teachers, and then reach basic education. In this work, an initial training course was developed with academic students from the Chemistry Degree course at the Federal University of Espírito Santo, which allowed contemplating strategies to take the History of Science to the Teaching of Chemistry based on the cultural historical perspective of Vygotsky. The research was carried out with the aim of verifying the viability of the training course as well as analyzing the receptivity of the graduates to the activities proposed during the course. Through this research, it is expected to obtain and disseminate new activities about how the teaching of chemistry can be developed within a historical context
