Rosmarinic acid (RA) is the chemical component of plants widely used in the medicinal environment, such as rosemary, sage, among others. Its antioxidant capacity is studied as a natural alternative route for the treatment of several diseases, but its effect on the renin angiotensin system (RAS) in the nervous central system model of Parkinson's is still little known. The objective of this study was to investigate the influence of AR on the SRA of C57bl / 6 mice affected by the MPTP toxin in the brainstem. The animals were treated with the MPTP toxin (30 mg / kg) for induction of Parkinson's disease, one group receiving the toxin and the other in addition to MPTP, RA was given at a dose of 20 mg / kg orally for 14 days.
