Although the PSE has proven to be an important health strategy, its implementation has not yet reached its full potential, with one of the most notable weaknesses being intersectorality. Objectives: This dissertation aimed to analyze the PSE as a health promotion strategy and had the following specific objectives: to describe the implementation and results of the PSE in Brazil through a scoping literature review; to analyze the correlation between social inequalities, organization of health services, epidemiological indicators, and PSE outcomes in the municipalities of the state of Espírito Santo (ES) between 2019 and 2022; and to develop a manual to support the execution and monitoring of PSE results by Brazilian municipalities. Methods: This is a qualitative-quantitative study divided into three stages. In the first stage, a scoping review of the literature on the implementation and results of the PSE in Brazil between 2007 and 2022 was conducted. In the second stage, an ecological study was performed using public secondary data. The dependent variable considered the set of goals agreed upon in the adherence to the PSE in each cycle and was constructed with data from SISAB. The result was correlated with social variables, organization of health services, and epidemiological indicators. In the third stage, an e-book containing information on the execution and monitoring of PSE results for Brazilian municipalities was developed. Results: The scoping review revealed weaknesses in the implementation of the PSE across the country, namely: in the structure, there is insufficient training on the program's objectives, a shortage of professionals, and work overload; in the process, there is an absence of situational diagnosis and intersectoral planning, fragmented activities, and the health sector's leading role; and in the results, there were improvements in access to health services, increased adherence to the program, and perceived improvements in students' habits and learning. The ecological study showed that municipalities in ES had difficulties meeting the program's goals, especially in 2020, the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Metropolitan Health Region achieved better results in the four years evaluated; a correlation was observed between social variables (HDI, CadÚnico, IDEB, and illiteracy rate), health system variables (Basic Care Coverage and Previne Brasil ISF), and epidemiological variables (Poliomyelitis Vaccination Coverage) with better PSE outcomes. The health sector was noted as the main participant in activities compared to the education sector. In the third stage, an e-book was developed containing information about the PSE, proposed methodologies to be employed in activities, and tools for monitoring its results. Conclusions: Both the literature review and the ecological study showed that municipalities face difficulties in developing the activities agreed upon in the cycles. These findings highlight the need for improvements in the program's implementation, addressing its structural and procedural weaknesses to enhance its desired outcomes and impacts. It is hoped that the developed manual will contribute to this process

Not unlike the world scenario, Brazil has also been seeking strategies to tackle tuberculosis in order to reduce the number of new cases and deaths from the disease. To this end, ecological studies have been developed in Brazil as a tool for analyzing the points of highest incidence and prevalence of a disease in the territory, as well as a tool used to evaluate the temporal trend of the disease, showing the places that present the greatest risks for the development and worsening of a disease. Objectives: To identify in the scientific literature the methods used for ecological analysis of deaths from tuberculosis in Brazil between 2018 and 2024. To analyze the quality of data on tuberculosis care services in the municipalities of the state of Espírito Santo using information from the forms, especially the completeness of data from the notification forms in the Compulsory Notifiable Diseases Information System with the outcome of deaths from the disease, between 2015 and 2019. Methods: The PICOS search strategy and the PRISMA research protocol were used to carry out a literature review of ecological studies that addressed the topic of tuberculosis deaths and the methods adopted by the scholars. The period analyzed was from 2018 to 2024 and used the Scielo, PubMed and LILACS databases. As for the spatial analysis, this is an ecological, descriptive and exploratory study, which involved secondary data from the compulsory tuberculosis notification forms of the Compulsory Notifiable Diseases Information System made available by the Espírito Santo State Health Department. In order to assess the completeness of the information, the 2003 Centers for Disease Control and Prevention classification was used, classifying completeness as “poor”, “fair” and “excellent”. Maps were created showing the distribution of completeness in the territory of Espírito Santo in order to see which places filled in the notification forms better or worse. Results: Sixteen articles were eligible, addressing the theme of tuberculosis death in the Brazilian territory, published between 2018 and 2024. The authors used secondary data from DATASUS, mostly Mortality Information System data. Among Brazil's macro-regions, the Northeast was the territory with the most publications. The Global and Local Moran's Index was the most used method in the 13 sample, as was the spatial scanning method. Finally, all the studies presented the relationship between the territory and social determinants as an outcome. As for the completeness analysis, the total number of tuberculosis notifications closed as “TB deaths” was 347 cases, of which 271 met the eligibility criteria (not presenting the “post-mortem” entry type). The majority of cases were male, aged between 50 and 60, of brown race/color, with incomplete schooling. The state of Espírito Santo had a fair rating for the completeness of the information on the variables analyzed and the Metropolitan Region of Vitória had a poor and fair rating for the completeness of the data on the tuberculosis notification form. Conclusions: In relation to the findings of the integrative literature review, it was observed that the tools of ecological spatial analysis are reflected in maps that show the scenario of the territory and how it is possible to evaluate the temporal trend of the region of analysis. Therefore, this type of scientific method has been developed in regions where death from tuberculosis is still an alarming factor for public health, contributing to the interpretation and analysis of space in relation to the disease. With the ecological analysis of the completeness of the data from the tuberculosis notification forms that had the outcome “death from tuberculosis”, it was observed that the completeness of the data directly affects the demonstration of death in the municipalities of Espírito Santo, hindering epidemiological analysis of the population. In addition, it was observed that the flow of notifications in the territory is centralized in the state capital, with the municipality of Vitória having more notifications than residents who died from the disease. In view of this, the findings of this study emphasize the need to analyze the collective in order to help devise health strategies for dealing with tuberculosis. To this end, it is suggested that future studies explore ecological methods for analyzing the behavior of tuberculosis deaths in space and that measures and flows be planned and audited

For this purpose, a systematic review was carried out identifying the normative acts that deal with residential condominiums and charging for management services, and the aspects that influence the Willingness To Pay (WTP) for these services. In addition, a case study was conducted in the municipality of Vitória/ES, identifying through a questionnaire and the Contingent Valuation Method, the WTP for Waste Management in condominiums, and estimating the financial impact with the application of a transfer policy of responsibility. From the systematic review it was identified that there is no specific Brazilian legislation for charging for management services in residential condominiums. It was also identified that the influential variables in WTP are divided into four groups: (1) socioeconomic aspects, (2) informational level, (3) situation of management services, and (4) political and regulatory aspects, being the last still little studied despite representing a strong influence on WTP. The case study revealed that 58% of the interviewees living in condominiums are willing to pay an average of R$ 29.41 per month per household for management services, and this amount could be increased by 15% by disclosing information about the WTP. Finally, it was identified that the costs of waste management in residential condominiums correspond to around 23% of the entire SWM cost in Vitória/ES, and that the application of a responsibility transfer policy can relieve 19% of the costs. This work contributes to the development of policies for charging for waste management services in residential condominiums, describing the WTP, and the importance of disclosing information for greater acceptance of the policy. Due to the low adherence of interviewees, future studies are recommended to construct statistically representative scenarios and econometric models, which allow the calculation of the WTP and the assessment of the financial impact

In this context, adsorption by activated carbon has gained attention as an alternative for removing microcontaminants in water treatment. Several variables can influence adsorption, one of the most notable being the competition among multiple contaminants for the adsorption sites on the activated carbon. This work conducted a systematic review guided by the PRISMA guideline to establish the state of the art on competitive adsorption. The review data were obtained using the keywords “Competitive adsorption,” “Powder Carbon” “Activated Carbon,” and “Water Treatment,” covering the years 2000 to 2023. The selected articles were categorized into: competition between metals, competition between metals and organic compounds, and competition between organic compounds. The review results contributed to understanding the existing research gaps in the field. In the laboratory tests, the activated carbon was characterized by several techniques to identify functional groups, porosity, moisture content, and ash content, among other parameters. Then, the isolated and competitive removal of two highly commercialized herbicides in Brazil, atrazine and 2,4-D, was tested in the state of Espírito Santo, with adsorption evaluated in terms of kinetics and isotherms. The Freundlich model showed the best fit for both pesticides in isolated systems. The adsorption of 2,4-D was significantly affected by the presence of atrazine due to its hydrophilic nature in the study's pH range (6-7). A computational study was conducted to suggest potential mechanisms, and the results indicated a predominance of π-π interactions, which is consistent with findings in the literature. The results suggest that the commercial carbon from Bahia Carbon is a strong candidate for removing 2,4-D and atrazine in isolated systems, but the presence of atrazine may significantly affect the removal of 2,4-D

The quality of care provided is also compromised, due to fatigue and decreased empathy when interacting with patients. Signs of Burnout have been observed among nephrology nursing staff, with effects on the health of the worker and the work environment. Objective: To identify the determinants of Burnout Syndrome and Compassion Fatigue, to describe Burnout and Compassion Fatigue in nursing workers, to analyze the perception of nursing workers in relation to Burnout and Compassion Fatigue, and to build an educational technology for coping with Burnout and Compassion Fatigue for nursing workers. Method: Applied research, with technological production, carried out with nursing workers from the nephrology service of a university hospital in the southeast. The research was carried out in four stages: 1) Literature review; 2) Quantitative data collection; 3) Qualitative data collection; 4) Technology development. Results: The integrative literature review includes work overload, lack of institutional support and continuous contact with situations of suffering as the main determinants for the development of Burnout and Compassion Fatigue among nursing workers in the nephrology sector. These factors were corroborated by the study's findings. In the quantitative analysis, 47% of the participants showed high levels of stress and 53% showed signs of Burnout; in addition, 65% reported symptoms of Compassion Fatigue, and the majority of those affected were women, 70%. In the qualitative analysis, the following categories emerged: emotional and work overload, lack of professional recognition and lack of psychological support. Product: Chatbot-type educational technology, with an artificial intelligence interface and self-management, in which the virtual secretary can identify workers' demands regarding Burnout Syndrome and Compassion Fatigue, presenting personalized strategies based on user interactions. Final considerations: This study revealed an overview of the information collected in the assessments of Burnout Syndrome and Compassion Fatigue among nursing workers in the Nephrology Unit. Using quantitative and qualitative methods, it was possible to measure the severity of these conditions using psychometric scales and to explore the professionals' subjective perceptions. The quantitative analysis revealed high levels of stress and emotional exhaustion, while the qualitative analysis highlighted categories such as emotional overload, lack of professional recognition and absence of psychological support. Based on these findings, educational technology was developed in the form of a chatbot, designed to help professionals self-manage Burnout and Compassion Fatigue, responding to the specific needs of workers
- ItemCLIL na educação básica : uma metapesquisa sobre a produção de conhecimento acerca da abordagem CLIL(Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo, 2024-02-28) Torres, Paulo Cezar Lira; Co-orientador1; https://orcid.org/; http://lattes.cnpq.br/; Co-orientador2; https://orcid.org/; http://lattes.cnpq.br/; Co-orientador3; https://orcid.org/; http://lattes.cnpq.br/; Co-orientador4; ID do co-orientador4; Lattes do co-orientador4; Furlan, Cláudia Jotto Kawachi ; https://orcid.org/; http://lattes.cnpq.br/; Orientador2; https://orcid.org/; http://lattes.cnpq.br/; https://orcid.org/; http://lattes.cnpq.br/; Fiorot, Luciana Ferrari de Oliveira; https://orcid.org/; http://lattes.cnpq.br/; Seccato, Mariana Guedes; https://orcid.org/; http://lattes.cnpq.br/; 3º membro da banca; https://orcid.org/; http://lattes.cnpq.br/; 4º membro da banca; http://lattes.cnpq.br/; 5º membro da banca; https://orcid.org/; http://lattes.cnpq.br/; 6º membro da banca; https://orcid.org/; http://lattes.cnpq.br/; 7º membro da banca; https://orcid.org/; http://lattes.cnpq.br/The number of bilingual schools in Brazil has increased in recent years, generating growing interest in the CLIL (Content and Integrated Language Learning) approach, according to Porcellato (2021). However, studies on its implementation in Brazilian schools are still scarce and focus on the use of English as an additional language (Landau, Albuquerque Paraná and Siqueira, 2021). Porcellato points to the potential of this approach in Brazil, despite the fact that there is little research on the subject. In the CLIL approach, one of the benefits that students gain, according to Gracia (2015), is motivation to learn both the content and the additional language. This research was motivated by my experience as an English language teacher and my interest in the CLIL approach. The aim of this study is to analyze the production of knowledge about the CLIL approach in Basic Education in Brazil through a metaresearch carried out with theses and dissertations from the CAPES Catalogue of Theses and Dissertations. Twenty papers were found from 2015 to 2023 and three of them made up the corpus of analysis of this research, since they discuss the CLIL approach in Basic Education in Brazil. The CLIL approach and the challenges in implementing this approach were analyzed, as well as the relationship between English language teaching and the CLIL approach. According to the analysis, the main potential of the CLIL approach is to make learning more meaningful by integrating content and language and to increase learner motivation. Lack of specific teacher training and lack of appropriate teaching materials were the main challenges pointed out. I hope that this study will encourage reflections on the importance of research into the CLIL approach, seeking to contribute to the strengthening of this field of research and action, as well as to the development of educational linguistics proposals that are meaningful for teachers and learners, taking into account the needs of the context and opening up new possibilities through education

To support the research, the following topics were addressed: image management, identity, organizational image and reputation, as well as themes related to organizational communication, public communication, and internal public, relating how these topics influence the organizational image. Methodologically, the Image Configuration Method (ICM), proposed by Schuler and De Toni (2015), encompassing both qualitative and quantitative approaches, was applied. In the qualitative stage, data collection was carried out through structured interviews to identify the main attributes that form the organizational image of Ifes, from the perspective of students, faculty, and administrative staff. Data analysis in this phase was based on Bardin's content analysis (2016). The terms and variables extracted from this analysis were used to prepare the questionnaire for the next phase. In the quantitative phase, data collection was conducted through a questionnaire, which measured the degree of importance and satisfaction regarding the attributes identified in the previous stage. The results revealed that the organizational image of Ifes - Campus Serra is formed by 25 attributes, some of which are negative. The central image is composed of the attributes: Educational Excellence; Pleasant Environment; Pride; Developed Activities; Hostile Environment; Transformative Education; and Interpersonal Relationships. Regarding the dimensions of the image, it is influenced by rational and emotional attributes. In terms of importance, all attributes are considered very important by the three groups. In terms of satisfaction, students perceive reputation, pride, autonomy, professional and technical training, innovation, and technology as well-rated attributes. From the faculty's perspective, reputation, pride, and the activities carried out at the institution are well evaluated. For administrative staff, only the location is well evaluated

Its significance extends beyond economic aspects, encompassing cultural and social dimensions, forging a deep connection between communities and the environment. Despite its crucial role, the generation of waste from fish processing poses a significant challenge for the fishing sector. The current management of this waste is characterized by worrying irregularities, leading to substantial negative environmental impacts. This inadequate management not only jeopardizes the quality of marine ecosystems but also contributes to large-scale environmental manipulation. This research delves into the critical role of artisanal fishing in the environmental impacts associated with fishing activities in the municipality of Marataízes, Espírito Santo. The primary objective is to evaluate the environmental impacts resulting from the irregular disposal of waste from artisanal fishing in the Barra do Itapemirim and Pontal ports, located in the municipality of Marataízes. The methodology employed in this study integrates both qualitative and quantitative approaches. Initially, the evaluation of the artisanal fishermen's profile involved the application of questionnaires, following a documentary methodological approach. This stage encompassed aspects identified in the diagnosis, including the disposal of waste resulting from fish processing. To analyze the composition of the generated waste, physical, chemical, and nutritional characterizations were performed, providing a comprehensive understanding of the waste generated in the process. The results and analyses of this research enabled the characterization of the fishermen's profile and fishing activities in the studied communities. Furthermore, it was possible to understand the composition of fish waste, noting the significant presence of lipids, proteins, and energy. It was also identified that the continuous disposal of this waste is causing significant environmental impacts due to the high concentration of the parameters found. This made it possible to suggest measures for the reuse of this waste, such as the production of fishmeal, aiming to mitigate these impacts and promote a more sustainable use of available resources

However, controlling their high chemical reactivity at the edges, due to its zig-zag edge configuration, remains a challenge from an experimental standpoint. The strategy investigated in this study to address this characteristic is to create an insulating matrix of hexagonal boron nitride (h-BN) so that the triangulenes can be embedded in the h-BN structure, maintaining their electronic and magnetic properties. Given the size of the studied systems, the Density Functional Theory will be used in all electronic structure calculations. The results revealed that the formation of h-BN or carbon domains is equally possible, and the multiplicities of the ground state are determined solely by the carbon sites, regardless of their position, size, or whether the carbon islands are connected or not. Additionally, Lieb’s Theorem holds true in all cases when considering only the carbon sites, which can be a useful tool in determining the ground state spin of these systems

The need to reconcile the interest in accessing public higher education in Brazil with existing regulations, inclusion policies, and the State's budgetary constraints has increased the complexity of the admission processes. Simultaneously, the 1988 Federal Constitution expanded the possibilities for access to justice and the role of the Judiciary. In this context, the judicialization of admission processes has become a frequent trend, and UFES, particularly as the only public university in the state where it is located, is not immune to this phenomenon. The research is documentary, descriptive, and explanatory, conducted through a mixed-method approach. Quantitative and qualitative stages of document analysis were carried out on the judicial cases available on the virtual page of the Federal Regional Court of the 2nd Region, related to admission to UFES undergraduate programs. The results present an overview that highlights the increase in the number of lawsuits between 2018 and 2023, as well as the Judiciary's involvement in implementing public policy for higher education admission. The phenomenon predominantly involves sensitive issues, such as the quota system. Moreover, the analysis of the judicial decisions related to these cases demonstrates that there is no judicial activism in the content of the decisions, that the rulings are primarily based on factual matters and principled and jurisprudential arguments, and that UFES is the losing party in a minority of cases. However, the rulings against the University—especially those that provisionally mandate enrollment—have significant consequences for public administration and students. Therefore, the study of the judicialization phenomenon reveals weaknesses, potentialities, and solutions for public administration, making it possible to outline recommendations that contribute to improving the admission processes for undergraduate programs at UFES, in order to prevent recurring legal disputes.

Its main objective was to analyze in the narratives of monitors and teachers of museum that permeate the educational proposals of the Museu Solar Monjardim (MSM), as well as the production of meanings and knowledge in the partnership relationship with institutionalized education. To this end, field research was carried at the MSM located in Vitória-ES, to learn about the educational activities developed. The field research experiences at the museum also served to simultaneously carry out interviews about the monitors’ actions with the general public. In addition, a search and listening was carried out by Basic Education educators who were at the museum in 2023, seeking to understand how their work developed with the students after visiting the museum. The justification for choosing the theme the lies in the learnig that can begin with individual stories located in a collective history. These characteristics of the museum were also identified when we carried out the State of Knowledge. It was noticed how much a museum contributes to the training of students and how it produces feelings of belonging. The theoretical framework in this research includes Pereira (2011), Chagas (2016) and Ramos (2004) who discuss the issue of Education in museums. Field research consists of the following procedures: a) interviews with employees from the MSM educational sector and teachers who visited the MSM in the first half of 2023; b) observations of activities carried out within the MSM. Based on the assumptions of Oral History, the thematic interviews revealed that the MSM presents itself in a contemporary way, despite bearing the name of a wealthy family in the 18th and 19th centuries. The teachers interviewed called for renewal, felt elitism and demanded a democratic call through more publicity of the institution and collections. But even só, the MSM is willing to listen and interact with students who carry out field studies there.

Information literacy has often been approached as a way of contributing to subjects' reflexivity, proposing a critical analysis of the production, appropriation and sharing of information in various media and formats. In this context, it is believed that studies of information practices can provide an understanding of aspects of disinformation from the perspective of the subjects themselves, taking into account their contexts and daily lives. The general objective of this study is to investigate the information practices of postgraduate professors in Information Science in Brazil at the master's and doctoral level, especially with regard to the way they deal with disinformation about politics. The specific objectives are to: a) identify how teachers use and share information about politics in their daily lives; b) analyze how the academic, professional and social context of teachers interferes with their perceptions of the Brazilian political scenario; c) verify how misinformation impacts the information practices of teachers with regard to political issues. This is an exploratory research with a qualitative-quantitative approach in which semi-structured interviews were carried out with seven teachers who teach courses on disinformation and/or information literacy. Data analysis occurred through content analysis proposed by Laurence Bardin. It was found that teachers use and disseminate information about politics as a way of problematizing reality, bringing true information and misinformation about politics to the classroom in order to encourage students' reflexivity. It was noted that the perception (positive or negative) of teachers about governments is directly related to government actions in the educational field. Furthermore, it was identified that misinformation with a “political” theme has been increasingly addressed and discussed by teachers and students included in PPGCIs. It is believed that the research contributed to the studies of information practices, correlating aspects of disinformation, politics and information literacy

At the state level, this agenda became strategic with the creation of the Capixaba Institute of Teaching, Research, and Health Innovation (ICEPi) in 2019. Since its inception, ICEPi has developed projects aimed at scientific, technological, and innovation development, working in partnership with municipalities and other health services. Despite significant results achieved, which contributed to improvements in access and quality of healthcare services in Espírito Santo, it is still necessary to optimize methods for implementing innovations, aiming for greater efficacy and sustainability. Thus, this research aimed to propose strategies to increase the effectiveness of implementing innovations in public health in Espírito Santo. The methodology adopted was applied, exploratory, and used a quanti-qualitative approach through action research. To collect quantitative data, an online questionnaire based on the domains of the Consolidated Framework for Implementation Research (CFIR) was administered to a sample of 34 participants. For qualitative data collection, a focus group with a sample of 5 people was conducted, with the group moderated and guiding questions also based on the CFIR. Data integration was performed through side-by-side comparison. The results of this research identified the main facilitators and barriers in the implementation of innovations in public health in Espírito Santo, such as the adaptability of the innovation to local needs, the existence of partnerships and connections with external entities, and the internal infrastructure of health organizations. Based on these findings, a roadmap for implementing innovations in the SUS-ES was developed, structured in seven main stages: evaluation of the internal and external environment, innovation planning, stakeholder engagement, team training, implementation with continuous adjustments, and sustainability and expansion of the innovation. This roadmap offers the steps and activities to guide managers and health professionals in introducing new practices and technologies, promoting a culture of continuous and sustainable innovation

However, achieving the universalization of these spaces has faced a series of practical challenges, with the shortage of properly qualified librarians being one of the main obstacles nationwide. These difficulties compromise the effectiveness of policies aiming to universalize school libraries, making it crucial to seek solutions to overcome these barriers. In this context, this study investigates the socio-educational role of reading rooms in municipal schools of Cachoeiro de Itapemirim/ES, as well as explores how librarians can contribute to managing these spaces, using librarian praxis as a central approach. The study diagnoses the current situation of the reading rooms, analyzes the actions taken, the professionals involved, the physical environment, management, and existing policies. It also examines the integration and participation of librarians in these rooms, comparing them with school libraries, and discusses how librarian praxis can be a differential in managing these spaces. To achieve these objectives, a mixed methodological approach is adopted, combining exploratory and descriptive elements. The research includes an initial literature and document review, followed by a mixed data collection to understand the dynamics of reading rooms in Cachoeiro de Itapemirim. Finally, a Case Study method is used to analyze the data obtained and formulate recommendations. Based on this knowledge, projects for reading rooms managed by librarians are suggested as a viable alternative to address the lack of qualified professionals. The results highlight the reading room as a sociocultural device and information center, emphasizing the importance of their management by qualified librarians. Furthermore, it underscores the value of librarian praxis for the development of reading rooms, with an emphasis on their sociocultural and critical dimensions

Each year, 17 million people suffer a stroke, resulting in 6.5 million deaths, while millions more face the disease, bringing the total number of survivors to 80 million. In Brazil, stroke is the leading cause of death among adults, accounting for 10% of hospital admissions to public hospitals. Despite the reduction in overall mortality from stroke, the absolute number of cases, deaths and years of life lost continues to grow, especially in developing and underdeveloped countries. OBJECTIVE: to analyze the trend of mortality due to stroke in the population of the state of Espírito Santo, Brazil, between 2000 and 2021. METHODS: this is an ecological time series study using secondary data on the population of the state of Espírito Santo, Brazil, from 2000 to 2021. Data on deaths by sex and age group during this period were obtained from the database of the Department of Informatics of the Unified Health System (DATASUS), on the website https://datasus.saude.gov.br/informacoes-de-saude-tabnet/. The focus of the study was to analyze deaths whose underlying cause was stroke, coded as I64 in the International Classification of Diseases, 10th version. The temporal trend of strokes was assessed using joinpoint regression analysis with the Regression Joinpoint software. RESULTS: in the state of Espírito Santo, from 2000 to 2021, there was a significant decrease in proportional mortality from stroke of -3.7% (95% CI: -5.8%; - 1.7%), with a p-value <0.001. This decline was observed both in males, with a reduction of -3.0% (95% CI: -4.2%; -1.7%), and in females, which recorded a decrease of -3.9% (95% CI: -5.6%; -2.2%). Among the age groups analyzed, the group aged 50 to 59 years stood out, which showed the greatest decline in proportional mortality from stroke, with an average annual percentage change (AAPC) of -4.9 (95% CI: -8.4; -1.4). In contrast, the 30–39 age group showed the smallest decline, with a VPMA of -2.4 (95% CI: -4.2; -0.5). No segments of change in proportional stroke mortality were identified in the 40–49, 60–69, and 70–79 age groups during the study period. CONCLUSION: there was a decline in stroke mortality rates, with a long-term downward trend, in the state of Espírito Santo, Brazil, during the period analyzed. The interrupted trend analysis revealed two segments for stroke mortality from 2000 to 2016, with a decreasing trend, and from 2016 to 2021, with an increasing trend.
