A física das estrelas: a astronomia e a astrofísica como caminhos para ensinar física moderna e contemporânea na educação básica

Resumo
This research proposes to carry out a critical analysis on the appropriation of concepts of Modern and Contemporary Physics in a class of the 2nd Grade of High School of a public school in the city of São Gabriel da Palha-ES, in which we use as paths for motivation the teaching-learning process, topics in Astronomy and Astrophysics, using activities in investigative perspective as methodological tools. For the development of the research, we theoretically base ourselves on the socio-historical theory of Vygotsky (2000, 2001, 2005 and 2007) and other authors who discuss their study. The investigation was carried out under a qualitative conception, having as instruments of data collection, the field diary and the audio-recording. Thus, we first conducted a focus group with the research participants, in order to assess their evolution of concepts about the Sun and the production of nuclear energy. In another meeting, a moment of astronomical observation was carried out using a telescope. We also held some meetings in which experiments and investigative activities were developed, with the purpose of analyzing the process of forming scientific concepts in relation to the proposed themes, with the approach of topics of Modern and Contemporary Physics. Thus, we understand as important factors to achieve the objectives proposed in this research, group work, which promote interaction and exchange of experiences among the participants of the research. In this context, we also see the fundamental role of the teacher as a mediating element in the learning process. Our research intends to contribute with alternatives to make the teaching of Physics more attractive for students, showing that the contents of this discipline are not limited to solving problems out of context in mathematical models
