Resumo
By placing new characters into the 1930’s political structure, Getúlio Vargas tries to defend his interests and control the brasilian states. Among these new figures, the stakeholders highlight Captain João Punaro Bley: an outsider who comes to Espírito Santo in a period of transition, with no recognition of the population that he would be lidering, and yet manages to remain in local government by over twelve years. Through photographs conveyed in the illustrated magazine Vida Capichaba into four years that we thing are important in his government (1930, 1935, 1937 and 1942), is expected to find traces of how these images can be considered political control tools used by Bley to spread your image, and win the support of spirit-Santo's society. The relationship between photography and history will be reviewed, such as an overview of the context of the time, and a look at the magazine Vida Capichaba as a leading vehicle within the society was.
